About Akhuwat
Akhuwat is a not-for-profit organization inspired by the Islamic principle of “Muaakhaat” – brotherhood and solidarity. Our mission is to build a poverty-free society by empowering the underserved through interest-free microfinance and holistic social support programs.
Founded in 2001, Akhuwat has grown to become one of the largest interest-free microfinance institutions in the world, transforming millions of lives across Pakistan.

What We Do
Akhuwat offers a range of impactful services designed to uplift communities and foster sustainable development:
🕌 Islamic Microfinance
We provide Qarz-e-Hasna (interest-free loans) to help low-income families launch or grow small businesses. Repayment is made in easy, profit-free installments.
🎓 Akhuwat Education Services (AES)
We deliver free, quality education through a network of Akhuwat Colleges and Schools, ensuring that economic barriers never stop a child from learning.
🏥 Akhuwat Health Services
Akhuwat runs free health clinics and mobile medical camps, offering essential medical care and medicines to the underserved.
👚 Akhuwat Clothes Bank
Clean, donated clothing is distributed with dignity to families in need, especially during winter and emergency situations.
🏳️🌈 Akhuwat Khwajasira Support Program (AKSP)
We support the transgender community through financial aid, skills training, and counseling to promote independence and respect.
🤝 Relief & Community Development
From flood relief to vocational training, Akhuwat is on the ground during disasters and works year-round to strengthen community resilience.
